In the heart of Tuscany, close to Umbria

In the mountains behind Cortona is the small hamlet of Cantalena. Although only 12 kms from Cortona we suggest you allow 20 minutes as the last 3 kms is a good but narrow, twisty unsealed road.

From "Casalena" you can do endless day trips and access some of the most enchanting and interesting villages of Tuscany and Umbria, in fact nowhere is too far away.

"It is hard to believe that our seven days here is up.  We have hada grand time at Casalena.  We visited Assisi, Orvieto, Cortona and many other attractions in the area.  We had the village to ourselves except for two days. The horses visited each evening and the sunsets were mignificent.  Thank you for this break in our Trip Aound the World". Carolyn and DIck Neal, Brenham, Texas, USA
